Save the Date! Narrative Medicine Facilitator Training Starts October, 29, 2021.
Join the Northwest Narrative Medicine Collaborative and OHSU Division of Hospital Medicine and become a Narrative Medicine Leader. Last year's personalized, interactive narrative medicine workshop was a great success even in the midst of a global pandemic. Here's what some of our participants had to say:
"This was my first encounter with Narrative Medicine so I didn't know what to expect. In that way, all of it was a DELIGHTFUL, PROVOCATIVE, INSPIRING, MOVING surprise."
"...a welcoming community of people..."
"I was surprised to hear from so many people who are part of the patient care team, including patients, professors, caregivers, life coaches, and more."
" Our conversations resonated with me as a human and participant rather than a medical professional."
"I appreciate the myriad of ways we can engage in Narrative Medicine work."
At facilitator training, you will participate in large and small group activities designed to teach practical skills, and support collaboration and innovation among learners from diverse healthcare experiences. You will learn about and practice narrative competence, consult with humanities experts, and create original narrative medicine workshops to implement in your own healthcare communities.
We welcome all healthcare professionals, patients, caregivers, and artists who are advocates for telling and receiving “undertold” stories of illness and health in our communities.
