We Love Our Volunteers

NWNMC would not function without the dedication of our volunteers. We welcome volunteers who wish to become more involved in our mission to build, sustain and promote a regional narrative medicine community. We are currently accepting applications for the following volunteer opportunities.

The Programming Committee

The Programming Committee develops a year-round community of practice roster of facilitators and supports NWNMC programming through recruitment, facilitator support, online event marketing, technical event management, and program evaluation.

Time commitment: 2 hours per month

The Interstitium

The Interstitium is the NWNMC quarterly live storytelling event. We are looking for individuals to help with storyteller recruitment, story editing, and/or performer coaching, and event production. If you don't have those particular skills but love a live event and are willing to pitch in where needed, join the Interstitium team!

Time commitment: 2-4 hours/month

The JEDI Committee

The JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) Committee provides accountability across our activities and programming to support our commitment to be an inclusive organization. We are looking for individuals who have experience and training in this area.

Time commitment: 2 hours per month

The Communications Committee

The Communications Committee is responsible for the newsletter, the website, and social media accounts on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. If you are interested in audience outreach, website projects, blog editing, or social media curation, we would love to have you. We meet every other month, usually on Zoom.

Time commitment: 2-5 hours per month depending on your role

The Finance & Fundraising Committee

The Finance & Fundraising Committee has new leadership. If you have fundraising experience, grant writing expertise, event planning chops, and/or ideas about how to generate funds to support our work, we'd love to have you join us.

Time commitment: may vary

Website

We are looking for someone with basic WordPress knowledge to keep our website current, and build additional pages when needed.

Time commitment: 2 hours/month

If spreadsheets are your jam we could use your expertise and passion. We are looking for someone who can categorize, tag, and organize contacts between MailChimp and EventBrite.

We Are Grateful

Giving to NWNMC makes it possible for us to provide our monthly Community of Practice workshops at no charge, as well as offset costs for Facilitator and Scribe training by offering sliding scale and scholarship options. This makes our programming more accessible to all individuals and communities. Your donation also allows us to fairly compensate workshop creators, facilitators, and trainers. Here's how you can help.
