Event description
Loss can mean many things. Grief over a friendship, a loved one’s death or illness. Resilience too comes in many shapes and textures. It might be tinged with hope or determination. It might be a catalyst for action. Whatever our losses and gatherings of resilience, we experience them in our bodies as well as our minds and spirit.
In this interactive Community of Practice, we will read and discuss poems and observe visual art images to use as prompts for our writing. Participants will have time to discuss, write and share if wanted.

Workshop fees allow NWNMC to pay for facilitators, meeting technology, and event space. However, NWNMC never wants cost to be a barrier to participation. If money is an issue, please select a free ticket.

Facilitators
Suzanne Edison, MA, MFA, writes at the intersection of illness, healing, medicine and art. Her poetry books include: Since the House Is Burning and The Body Lives Its Undoing. Poetry can be found in: The Missouri Review; JAMA; HEAL; Intima: A Journal of Narrative Medicine; and in several anthologies including: The Healing Art of Writing, Volume I. Suzanne has taught writing workshops for caregivers, patients and medical providers through hospitals and other organizations.
