It’s a community gathering! Are you curious about narrative medicine? What it is and what it has the potential to do? Us, too! Join Northwest Narrative Medicine Collaborative to explore this question together. At this community of practice you will learn more about our organization and what we’ve been up to. We’ll give a quick overview of our narrative medicine programs and highlights across the last year. Of course, we will have the opportunity to read, write, reflect, and share. Learn about opportunities to get involved in NWNMC and the narrative medicine community in the northwest.

Facilitator Bio

This is a team effort! You will hear from NWNMC leadership and members of the board. The meeting will be led by Elizabeth Lahti, M.D., Director of Narrative Medicine at OHSU, and President of the Northwest Narrative Medicine Collaborative. She teaches narrative medicine and reflective practice to students, residents, and faculty. She uses narrative techniques in all areas of medical education, with a focus on professional identity formation, leadership development, and patient centered care. She is poetry editor for The Pharos, a medical humanities journal of the national Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society. Her work has been published in Annals of Internal Medicine, Journal of General Internal Medicine, and The Intima.
