Tell Your Story: A Communal Quilt Project

February 21, 2024

Everyone has a story of health or illness. When we share our stories, we often feel less alone AND we create collaborative stories that build community.

In this two-hour, in-person workshop, led by artist Steve Prince, participants will create their own 12 x 12 quilt square, with fabric, scissors, glue, and thread. The workshop will open with Mr. Prince introducing the process and philosophy of quilt making as storytelling. Participants will then create their own quilt square, with support from local nonprofit Quilts for Empowerment volunteers. The squares will be sewn together and be part of an exhibit at OHSU School of Nursing in the spring. No sewing or quilting experience necessary.

Funding to support this event provided by the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art at the University of Oregon and the Tykeson Family Foundation.

Food and drink available for purchase at the Lucky Labrador Brewing Company.
